P. Andrew Pearson, M.D.

Andrew PearsonDr. Pearson graduated from medical school at the University of Cincinnati, completed an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Kentucky and a two-year subspecialty fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous at Duke University.

He has been on the University of Kentucky faculty since 1994. Currently, he serves as Director of the Retina Service and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology. He specializes in diseases that affect the back of the eye, such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Dr. Pearson is part of a nationwide research team that is conducting large clinical trials on promising new treatments for diabetic eye disease.

Dr. Pearson provides independent contractor retina services at Kentucky Eye Institute’s Corbin, Kentucky practice location and other KEI locations as needed.
